Tipping Tips: We Answer Your Limo Driver Gratuity Questions

One of the most common questions people have when it comes to hiring a limousine or party bus is, “How much do I tip the driver?” It can cause some confusion, and some embarrassment, if you’re not certain of the amount. Here are our tipping tips.

First, remember, tipping is not compulsory. Now, if you’ve traveled to the US, for example, you’ll have experienced a different world. Gratuities are often considered obligatory, integrated into the price customers expect to pay – even when the service is mediocre!

Here, tipping is not a “must-do.” Customers often prefer to save tips for great service and for drivers who go beyond the standard to ensure their convenience and comfort.

If you have had a wonderful experience with an impeccably professional driver and spotless car, tipping is a way to show your appreciation. Yes, but how much? It is up to you. If, for example, your driver was competent and timely, a 10 percent tip is appropriate. If he or she was attentive and friendly, you may want to increase that to 15 percent.

And if he or she went beyond to offer you an exceptional experience (whether it was offering recommendations for great restaurants, providing reading materials like newspapers or helping you with bags and doors), you may find 20 percent to be a nice amount to tip.

Again, tipping is your choice, as is the amount. When you select Earls Limousine for your professional driving needs, our staff will never treat you differently whether you choose to tip or not. Every one of our customers is valued, and we strive to provide extraordinary service with every kilometer we drive.
